The garden was an awkward shape and overlooked on both sides. By rotating the design at an angle to the house a more interesting and dynamic space was created. The focal point of this back garden is a split-level patio of sandstone with Staffordshire brick edging. It is positioned to make the most of the limited sunlight the garden receives. A pergola and several small trees provide privacy and height without taking too much light. A large urn at the back of the pergola serves to draw attention away from the acute corner in the garden. A space has been provided for a small shed behind the garage.
The slide show also includes the final design for the front garden (an area of 3 x 6m) plus alternative ideas for the rear garden.
